The short version: this is an honest analysis tool, not advice; your data stays yours; and please don’t try to copy or scrape the thing.
1. What AlphaVandal is
AlphaVandal is an analysis and education tool. It decomposes trading signals into known factors and a residual and reports diagnostics (originality, factor exposure, forward-IC, returns vs buy-and-hold). It is not investment advice, a recommendation, a solicitation, or a promise of performance, and nothing here should be relied on to make investment decisions.
2. No warranty, use at your own risk
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. Verdicts are retrospective and model-dependent; data and methods have limitations we try to disclose. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make. To the maximum extent permitted by law, AlphaVandal is not liable for any loss arising from use of the service.
3. Your data and your rights
You retain all rights to anything you submit. The Pine Vandal repaint scan and returns autopsy run entirely in your browser — that content is never transmitted to or stored by us. The optional factor decomposition sends only aggregated monthly returns to our engine to compute a result; it is not stored or republished, and your script and individual trades are never sent. Only submit scripts, data, or results that you have the right to analyse.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t scrape, bulk-probe, reverse-engineer, or attempt to reconstruct our underlying data, factor models, or methodology; don’t resell or redistribute outputs as your own dataset; don’t abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the service. Programmatic access is via the API on its published terms only.
5. Intellectual property
The AlphaVandal and Pine Vandal names, brand, content, and engine are ours. You may share individual verdicts with attribution; you may not copy the product, its branding, or its data.
6. Third-party marks
Pine Script™ and TradingView are trademarks of TradingView, Inc. AlphaVandal and Pine Vandal are independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TradingView. Other names belong to their respective owners.
7. Changes
We may update these terms as the product evolves; material changes will be reflected here with a new date. Continued use means you accept the current version.
